About the role

Cascade Apps is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a seasoned PHP Developer to refactor critical code paths, optimize database queries, and implement robust monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and rewrite high‑traffic PHP modules for speed and stability
• Design and enforce caching strategies using Redis or similar tools
• Profile and tune MySQL queries, add indexes, and restructure schemas where needed
• Integrate logging and alerting to catch latency spikes early
• Collaborate with QA to validate performance benchmarks

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of PHP development experience
• Deep knowledge of Laravel framework
• Advanced MySQL optimization and schema design
• Proficiency with profiling tools (Xdebug, Blackfire)
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving abilities

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or container orchestration
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
