About the role
BlueSky Ventures is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay live 24/7. We need a seasoned PHP Developer to refactor core services, introduce modern architecture, and ensure zero‑downtime deployments. The work will focus on migrating monolithic code to a Laravel‑based stack while preserving existing functionality.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and refactor legacy PHP code into clean Laravel modules
- Design database migrations and optimize MySQL queries for high‑throughput
- Implement blue‑green or rolling deployment pipelines to achieve zero‑downtime releases
- Write automated tests and CI scripts to guarantee stability
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to align on release strategy
Must-have skills
- 5+ years of PHP development, deep Laravel expertise
- Strong MySQL performance tuning experience
- Proven track record delivering zero‑downtime migrations
- Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD tools
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments
- Knowledge of queue systems like Redis or RabbitMQ
- Background in legacy system modernization projects
