Senior PostgreSQL Administrator for End-to-End Database Migration

About the role

CloudWave Digital is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator who can design, tune, and automate database operations to meet demanding SLAs while keeping costs predictable.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing PostgreSQL clusters and identify bottlenecks
• Implement indexing, partitioning, and query‑optimisation strategies
• Set up automated backups, failover, and monitoring with alerting
• Collaborate with developers to refactor queries and schema for scalability
• Document procedures and provide knowledge transfer to internal ops team

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Deep knowledge of performance tuning, replication, and HA
• Proficiency with Linux shell scripting and automation tools
• Experience integrating PostgreSQL with MongoDB or MySQL ecosystems

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience using pgBouncer, Patroni, or similar tools
• Background in CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
