About the role

NexGen Media is expanding its digital platform and needs a Backend Developer to design and implement robust server‑side components. You will work on a high‑traffic web service that powers media content delivery and user interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using NodeJS.
• Integrate PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams to define API contracts.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Write unit and integration tests to guarantee code quality.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production services.

Must-have skills

• NodeJS with Express or similar frameworks.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) proficiency.
• PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization.
• Experience building and documenting REST APIs.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Docker containerization.
• Basic knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP).
