About the role

Vertex Analytics is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to embed security from day one. You will work with a remote‑first team, shaping threat models, hardening cloud assets, and ensuring compliance as the platform scales.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for the new SaaS environment
• Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for core services
• Monitor logs, detect anomalies, and respond to incidents
• Collaborate with developers to embed secure coding practices
• Document policies, procedures, and audit evidence

Must-have skills

• Hands‑on experience with security monitoring and incident response
• Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/GCP/Azure) and IAM
• Proficiency in scripting with Python for automation
• Solid understanding of Linux hardening and network security

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC or OSCP
• Experience with container security tools
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001)
