About the role

Vertex Analytics is launching a greenfield security platform for a remote‑first SaaS team. We need a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to define threat models, design detection rules, and guide secure architecture from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement security monitoring dashboards for cloud services
• Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies for new product features
• Write and tune SIEM queries, incident response playbooks, and alerting thresholds
• Collaborate with developers to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines
• Perform periodic vulnerability scans and pen‑test coordination

Must-have skills

• Strong understanding of network security, threat hunting, and incident response
• Hands‑on experience with Linux hardening and security tooling
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS security models

Nice to have

• Experience with zero‑trust architectures
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001
