About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a new product line and needs a REST API Developer to uplift test automation. The goal is to reduce regression risk before each release by building robust automated suites that validate API contracts and data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated API tests using NodeJS and JavaScript
• Integrate test suites with CI pipelines for continuous verification
• Collaborate with QA and product teams to define critical test scenarios
• Maintain test data in PostgreSQL and ensure environment consistency
• Document test results and provide actionable insights to developers

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL
• Hands‑on expertise with test automation frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Jest, Postman)
• Understanding of CI/CD integration for automated testing

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker containers for test environments
• Experience with API contract testing tools like Pact
• Background in performance testing of APIs
