About the role
Northbay Systems is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need an AWS Cloud Engineer to design and implement zero‑downtime migration strategies while enhancing reliability and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Architect a blue‑green deployment pipeline in AWS for seamless cut‑over
- Containerize legacy services with Docker and orchestrate them on ECS or EKS
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using CloudFormation or Terraform
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting for zero‑downtime assurance
- Collaborate with developers to refactor code for cloud‑native patterns
Must-have skills
- Deep experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)
- Proficiency in Docker containerization and orchestration
- Strong DevOps mindset with CI/CD pipeline creation
- Solid Linux administration and scripting skills
Nice to have
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation IaC tools
- Knowledge of serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway)
- Familiarity with observability stacks like Prometheus/Grafana
