About the role
NexGen Media is preparing the launch of its flagship mobile app store, aligning backend services with new iOS/Android security standards. As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer you will safeguard the mobile‑backend pipeline, ensuring data protection and compliance throughout the release cycle.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement real‑time threat monitoring for the "AppVault" backend gateway using AWS GuardDuty and SIEM integration.
- Conduct mobile‑focused penetration tests on the upcoming app store API, reporting findings in JIRA with actionable remediation steps.
- Automate security hardening scripts for Linux containers using Ansible and Python, targeting a 30% reduction in CVE exposure before go‑live.
- Collaborate with the mobile dev squad to embed runtime encryption checks into the iOS/Android SDKs.
- Lead incident response tabletop exercises simulating a data breach during the app store rollout.
- Provide daily security posture dashboards in Grafana for senior leadership review.
Must-have skills
- Deep experience with SOC operations, incident detection, and response.
- Proficiency in Linux hardening, firewall configuration, and log analysis.
- Strong Python scripting for automation and tooling.
- Hands‑on experience securing AWS environments, including IAM, KMS, and VPC flow logs.
- Knowledge of mobile app security frameworks (OWASP Mobile Top 10).
Nice to have
