About the role

Silverline Labs is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a Database Administrator to lead the database side of this overhaul, ensuring data layers scale smoothly and stay highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Audit current PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL deployments for bottlenecks.
• Design and implement indexing, partitioning, and sharding strategies.
• Set up automated monitoring, alerting, and failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with application engineers to optimize query patterns.
• Document configuration standards and run migration scripts with zero downtime.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production.
• Deep knowledge of performance tuning, replication, and backup/recovery.
• Experience with cloud‑based database services and infrastructure as code.
• Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerized database deployments.
• Certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP database services.
• Background in security hardening for data stores.
