Senior Microservices Architect Needed for End-to-End Service Mesh Deployment

About the role

NexGen Media is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a Microservices Architect to design resilient, low‑latency APIs and guide the migration to a cloud‑native stack.

Key responsibilities

• Define microservice boundaries and communication patterns for critical user flows
• Implement scalable deployment pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes
• Conduct performance profiling and introduce caching, circuit‑breaker, and throttling mechanisms
• Collaborate with product owners to prioritize reliability targets and SLAs
• Document architecture decisions and create run‑books for incident response

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in designing and deploying microservices at scale
• Proficiency with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration
• Strong Java development background and JVM tuning
• Experience with monitoring, tracing, and automated testing in distributed systems

Nice to have

• Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Background in cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
