About the role
DataPro Services is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a MongoDB Specialist to design and implement zero‑downtime migration strategies while improving performance and reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze existing MongoDB schemas and identify bottlenecks
- Design sharding, indexing, and replica set configurations for seamless cut‑over
- Write migration scripts that run without interrupting live traffic
- Implement monitoring and alerting for data health during the transition
- Collaborate with DevOps and backend teams to align data changes with application releases
Must-have skills
- 5+ years of production MongoDB experience
- Deep knowledge of schema design, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning
- Proven track record of zero‑downtime migrations on large datasets
- Strong scripting ability in JavaScript/NodeJS
- Familiarity with containerized deployments and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud‑native MongoDB services (Atlas, AWS DocumentDB)
- Knowledge of data security and encryption best practices
