About the role

Silverline Labs is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a seasoned PostgreSQL Administrator to lead the database optimization effort, ensuring low latency and high availability across critical workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing PostgreSQL clusters and identify bottlenecks
• Design and implement index, partitioning, and query‑tuning strategies
• Configure replication, failover, and backup solutions for 99.9% uptime
• Collaborate with application engineers to align schema changes with service roadmaps
• Automate monitoring and alerting using open‑source tooling

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Deep knowledge of performance tuning, vacuum, and connection pooling
• Experience with Linux, scripting (Bash/Python) and automation frameworks
• Proficiency in designing HA architectures and disaster recovery plans

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL migrations
• Background in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Exposure to container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
