Senior PostgreSQL Administrator Needed for Multi-Region Schema Modernization

About the role

Summit Digital is enhancing its operations data pipeline and analytics enablement. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, tune, and maintain high‑performance databases that feed real‑time insights to ops teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable PostgreSQL clusters for data ingestion workloads
• Optimize queries and indexes to support fast analytics reporting
• Automate backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate PostgreSQL with ETL pipelines
• Monitor performance metrics and resolve bottlenecks proactively

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Deep knowledge of replication, partitioning, and tuning
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL ecosystems
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for managed databases
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts and BI tools
