About the role

Northbay Systems is expanding its B2B platform with a new multi‑tenant capability called Atlas Hub. As the Microservices Architect you will design, build, and ship the core services that enable isolated tenant data flows while preserving performance at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define the service mesh topology for Atlas Hub using Istio and Envoy.
• Architect and implement tenant isolation patterns in Java Spring Boot microservices.
• Create CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI for automated testing, containerization, and deployment to Kubernetes.
• Set up observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger) to monitor latency and throughput per tenant.
• Lead a proof‑of‑concept for event‑driven communication via Apache Kafka across tenant boundaries.
• Document API contracts and versioning strategy for external partners.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in designing and scaling microservice architectures.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
• Strong Java development background, especially Spring Boot.
• Experience building secure, multi‑tenant REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, monitoring, and logging tools.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools.
• Experience in B2B SaaS platforms and tenancy models.
