About the role
AlphaEdge Tech is launching a new analytics platform and needs a seasoned PostgreSQL Administrator to ensure database reliability, performance, and security. You will work independently, collaborating with developers to support data pipelines and reporting tools.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL clusters
- Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexing
- Set up backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery processes
- Ensure security compliance and access controls
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to the engineering team
Must-have skills
- 3+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
- Strong SQL optimization and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments
- Familiarity with replication, sharding, and high‑availability setups
Nice to have
- Knowledge of MongoDB or MySQL
- Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Automation scripting with Bash or Python
