About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is building a real‑time analytics backbone that feeds operational dashboards across its global sites. As a Cybersecurity Engineer you will secure the data pipeline and enable analytics teams to ingest, transform, and visualize logs without compromising confidentiality or integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement network‑level segmentation for the new "PulseStream" data ingestion layer using AWS VPC, security groups, and NACLs.
• Develop automated detection rules in Splunk and Elastic SIEM to flag anomalous data flows and credential misuse.
• Integrate HashiCorp Vault for dynamic secret rotation across Python ETL jobs running on Amazon EMR.
• Conduct threat‑modeling workshops with analytics engineers and produce mitigation plans for identified attack vectors.
• Write and maintain Terraform modules that enforce CIS‑AWS benchmarks for all pipeline resources.
• Perform end‑to‑end penetration testing of the data ingestion APIs and deliver a remediation report within two weeks of each sprint.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty).
• Proficiency in Python for scripting security controls and log parsing.
• Strong knowledge of Linux hardening and incident response processes.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, or QRadar.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools, especially Terraform.

Nice to have

• Certifications like CISSP, GSEC, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience securing streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
