About the role

NovaForge Tech is modernizing a legacy production platform and needs a MongoDB Specialist to ensure zero‑downtime migrations. This part‑time contract focuses on redesigning data pipelines, optimizing queries, and implementing robust sharding strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing MongoDB schemas and refactor for scalability
• Design and execute zero‑downtime data migration plans
• Implement indexing, aggregation, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate updated data models
• Document migration procedures and monitoring setups

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with MongoDB architecture and ops
• Proven track record of zero‑downtime migrations
• Strong command of JavaScript, NodeJS, and RESTful services
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes deployments
• Knowledge of cloud databases (Atlas, AWS DocumentDB)
