About the role
Northbay Systems is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a MongoDB Specialist to tighten data protection, audit configurations, and implement best‑practice encryption across our clusters.
Key responsibilities
- Review and remediate MongoDB security settings in multi‑region cloud deployments
- Implement role‑based access controls and audit logging
- Design and apply encryption‑at‑rest and in‑transit strategies
- Conduct penetration testing simulations on database endpoints
- Document hardening procedures and provide knowledge transfer
Must-have skills
- Deep experience securing MongoDB in AWS/Azure/GCP environments
- Proficiency with authentication mechanisms (SCRAM, X.509)
- Strong understanding of network isolation, firewalls, and VPC security
- Ability to write scripts for automated compliance checks
Nice to have
- Certifications such as MongoDB DBA or CISSP
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for infra‑as‑code security
- Familiarity with SIEM integration for database alerts
