About the role
Harbor Softworks is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a MongoDB Specialist to lead the data layer optimization, ensuring low latency and high availability across all environments.
Key responsibilities
- Audit existing MongoDB clusters and identify bottlenecks
- Design and implement sharding, indexing, and replication strategies
- Develop monitoring dashboards and automated alerting
- Collaborate with backend engineers to refactor queries for efficiency
- Document best practices and provide knowledge transfer sessions
Must-have skills
- 5+ years managing production MongoDB deployments
- Deep understanding of performance tuning, aggregation pipelines, and backup/restore
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration
- Strong scripting skills in JavaScript/NodeJS for automation
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Atlas or other managed MongoDB services
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
- Exposure to GraphQL or REST API layers interacting with MongoDB
