About the role

Ridgeline Software is launching a brand‑new SaaS product and needs a Database Administrator to design, implement, and secure the data layer from day one. You will work with a remote‑first, agile team to ensure the database architecture scales with rapid user growth and supports continuous delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design the initial schema for a multi‑tenant PostgreSQL instance
• Set up automated backups, replication, and failover mechanisms
• Optimize queries and indexes for performance under load
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning dashboards
• Collaborate with developers to define data models and migration strategies
• Establish security best practices, role‑based access, and encryption

Must-have skills

• 3+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB and MySQL migrations
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and query optimization
• Familiarity with cloud database services and infrastructure as code

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized databases (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database changes
• Background in SaaS or multi‑tenant architectures
