About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a next‑generation fintech platform and needs a Java Developer to lead a test automation uplift for its core transaction engine, codenamed "Nimbus Guard". The focus is to reduce regression risk before major feature launches by creating a robust automated suite that integrates with existing CI pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Java‑based Selenium and RestAssured test frameworks for the Nimbus Guard module.
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins pipelines, ensuring nightly builds include full regression coverage.
• Collaborate with QA leads to prioritize high‑risk scenarios and define test data strategies using MySQL fixtures.
• Develop custom reporting dashboards in Grafana to visualize test health and flakiness trends.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices for test design, mocking, and continuous integration.

Must-have skills

• Strong Java (8+) development experience, including JUnit/TestNG.
• Proficiency with Selenium WebDriver, RestAssured, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git).
• Solid understanding of MySQL schema design and query optimization.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum processes.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Docker containers for test environment isolation.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter.
