Python Backend Developer for Mission-Critical Queue Worker Setup

About the role

BrightMart Solutions is modernizing its cloud platform and needs a Python Backend Developer to lead a security hardening initiative. You will work on the internal "SecureSync" module, tightening defenses for our SaaS services hosted on AWS. This short‑term contract focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, applying patches, and improving compliance across micro‑services.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing FastAPI services for OWASP Top 10 risks using Bandit and Snyk.
• Implement token‑based authentication and fine‑grained RBAC with OAuth2 and AWS Cognito.
• Containerize new security components in Docker, ensuring minimal attack surface.
• Write automated security regression tests in PyTest and integrate them into the CI pipeline.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to enforce encryption at rest and in transit for PostgreSQL databases.
• Document hardening procedures and deliver a final security report by project end.

Must-have skills

• Strong Python development experience (3+ years).
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL security features and migrations.
• Design and maintain REST APIs with FastAPI or Flask.
• Proficiency with Docker and container security best practices.
• Familiarity with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty).

Nice to have

• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform.
• Prior work on security hardening for cloud‑native applications.
