About the role

Harbor Softworks is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a focused REST API Developer to design the core service layer. You will work with a remote‑first team, shaping data contracts and ensuring high‑performance endpoints from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable RESTful APIs using NodeJS
• Define OpenAPI specifications and enforce versioning standards
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas, write performant queries, and manage migrations
• Set up automated testing pipelines for API contracts
• Collaborate with frontend and DevOps engineers to align on security and deployment practices

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building production‑grade REST APIs
• Strong NodeJS and JavaScript expertise
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL design and optimization
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI)

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD for API services
• Understanding of JWT/OAuth2 security flows
• Background in event‑driven architectures
