About the role

Vertex Analytics is preparing a major app store release that ties mobile front‑ends to a new backend ecosystem. We need an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and fine‑tune the cloud side so the mobile experience is fast, reliable, and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and deploy scalable AWS services (VPC, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3) for the upcoming app.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines that automate backend builds and mobile API releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure 99.9% uptime during launch.
• Collaborate with mobile developers to align API contracts and performance targets.
• Document infrastructure decisions and hand‑off guides for future teams.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with AWS core services and IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Proficient in Docker containerization and orchestration.
• Solid DevOps mindset with automated testing and deployment.
• Linux system administration and scripting.

Nice to have

• Experience with serverless frameworks (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Familiarity with mobile backend patterns (REST, GraphQL).
• Knowledge of security best practices for public APIs.
