About the role

Ridgeline Software is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Database Administrator to tighten data defenses, audit configurations, and implement best‑practice controls across our managed services.

Key responsibilities

• Review and harden PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL instances in AWS/Azure environments
• Implement encryption at rest and in transit, enforce least‑privilege access
• Conduct vulnerability scans, remediate findings, and document changes
• Develop automated scripts for backup integrity checks and audit logging
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security checks into CI pipelines

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in cloud settings
• Deep knowledge of security frameworks (CIS, NIST) for databases
• Experience with IAM, encryption, and audit logging mechanisms
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation

Nice to have

• Certifications such as AWS Security or CISSP
• Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code
