About the role

NexGen Media is preparing a major app store launch and needs a PostgreSQL Administrator to align mobile and backend data layers. You will ensure high‑availability, performance tuning, and seamless integration with the upcoming mobile services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement replication and failover strategies for PostgreSQL clusters
• Optimize queries and indexes to support high‑traffic mobile endpoints
• Coordinate schema migrations with the mobile development team
• Monitor database health, set alerts, and resolve incidents quickly
• Document procedures and create runbooks for future hand‑overs

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Strong SQL performance tuning and indexing expertise
• Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MongoDB and MySQL ecosystems
• Exposure to containerized database deployments
• Understanding of mobile backend APIs and data sync patterns
