About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a real‑time analytics pipeline to support its rapid growth. We need a Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and optimize data workflows that ingest, transform, and store high‑volume transactional data.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end ETL pipelines using Python and AWS services.
• Develop and maintain scalable data models in PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring dashboards.
• Collaborate with analytics and product teams to define data requirements.
• Optimize query performance and ensure cost‑effective cloud usage.
• Document architecture, processes, and best practices.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue).
• Expertise in building robust ETL pipelines.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) for pipeline deployment.
• Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka.
