About the role

NovaForge Tech is strengthening the security posture of its flagship cloud platform, AuroraShield. As a Backend Developer you will drive hardening measures for the AuroraShield API gateway and related services, ensuring compliance and resilience against emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and refactor existing NodeJS micro‑services to enforce OWASP Top 10 mitigations.
• Implement JWT‑based authentication and role‑based access control for the AuroraShield REST API.
• Integrate automated security scanning (Snyk, Trivy) into the CI/CD pipeline on GitHub Actions.
• Design and deploy PostgreSQL encryption at rest and column‑level masking for sensitive data.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests covering new security flows, achieving 90%+ coverage.
• Document hardening procedures and produce a post‑mortem report for each milestone.

Must-have skills

• NodeJS with Express or Fastify framework.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) proficiency.
• PostgreSQL schema design and performance tuning.
• REST API development and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

Nice to have

• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of security standards such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
