Key Responsibilities
- Format documents according to company style guides and branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with editorial and design teams to ensure consistency in layout, typography, and visual elements.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, to create and edit documents.
- Manage and organize files, ensuring version control and backup procedures are in place.
- Meet deadlines and priorities, working efficiently to deliver high-quality documents under tight schedules.
- Proofread and edit documents for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors, as well as consistency in formatting.
- Design and implement templates for recurring documents, such as newsletters and reports.
- Assist in the development of style guides and best practices for document formatting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and software updates, applying this knowledge to improve document formatting processes.
- Provide training and support to other team members on document formatting best practices and software tools.
- Contribute to the development of new products and projects, offering input on document design and layout.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition of formatted documents to print and digital platforms.
- Perform quality checks on final documents to ensure they meet company standards.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our brand's visual identity and apply this understanding to all document formatting tasks.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in document formatting, preferably in a publishing or design environment.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Excellent understanding of typography, layout, and visual design principles.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data entry principles and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Certificate in graphic design, publishing, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience with document management systems and version control tools.
