Freelance Technical Writer for Software Documentation and API Guides

Project Overview: We are launching a new external-facing API and need a detail-oriented Technical Writer to create complete, user-friendly documentation for our developer audience. Key Responsibilities: * Analyze the existing API endpoints and collaborate with the engineering team to understand technical specifications. * Write clear, accurate, and concise API reference guides, tutorials, and use-case examples. * Structure and format documentation using Markdown or a specific documentation tool (e.g., Read the Docs, Sphinx). * Maintain a consistent tone and style throughout all materials. * Develop a Getting Started guide to ensure rapid developer adoption. Required Skills & Experience: * 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer for software or API products. * Ability to read and understand code (e.g., JSON, YAML, basic Python/JavaScript). * Experience with static site generators or documentation platforms. * Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, actionable language.
