About the role

Orbit Labs is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a GraphQL API Developer to shape the data layer from day one. You will work with a remote‑first team, translating product concepts into a robust, scalable API that powers both web and mobile clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a GraphQL schema that aligns with business requirements
• Integrate GraphQL resolvers with existing NodeJS services and REST endpoints
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to optimize data fetching patterns
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure API reliability
• Document API contracts and contribute to technical specifications

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building GraphQL APIs in production
• Proficiency with NodeJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Solid understanding of REST API concepts and when to use them alongside GraphQL
• Familiarity with React data consumption patterns

Nice to have

• Experience with Apollo Server or similar GraphQL frameworks
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
