About the role

Cascade Apps is revamping the performance and reliability of its flagship customer‑facing services. As a Node.js Developer you will lead the redesign of the "PulseSync" module, ensuring low latency and high availability under heavy traffic.

Key responsibilities

• Profile and benchmark existing Node.js services using Clinic.js and Artillery.
• Refactor the PulseSync microservice to adopt async/await patterns and worker threads for CPU‑bound tasks.
• Implement circuit‑breaker logic with Opossum and integrate structured logging via Winston.
• Set up automated performance regression tests in the CI pipeline (GitHub Actions).
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to fine‑tune Docker containers and Kubernetes readiness probes.
• Document API contract changes and update OpenAPI specs for downstream consumers.

Must-have skills

• Strong Node.js (v14+) development experience.
• Proficiency with JavaScript ES6+ and asynchronous programming.
• Hands‑on with MongoDB aggregation pipelines and indexing.
• Design and consumption of RESTful APIs.
• Experience in performance profiling and optimization tools.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with TypeScript and NestJS framework.
• Knowledge of cloud monitoring platforms (Datadog, New Relic).
