About the role

Orbit Labs is overhauling the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a PHP Developer who can refactor critical code paths, improve database interactions, and implement robust monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing PHP code for speed and stability
• Redesign data access layers using Laravel and MySQL best practices
• Implement caching strategies and error‑handling mechanisms
• Write unit and integration tests to safeguard regressions
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure smooth deployments

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with PHP 7+ and Laravel framework
• Deep knowledge of MySQL performance tuning
• Proven ability to profile and optimize backend services
• Familiarity with Git and CI pipelines

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis or Memcached
• Understanding of Docker containers
• Background in monitoring tools such as New Relic or Grafana
