About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is seeking a senior Database Administrator to lead the migration and optimization of its core data platforms. You will own the end‑to‑end design, implementation, and performance tuning of both relational and document stores for a high‑traffic application.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute migration strategies for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
• Implement sharding and indexing for MongoDB clusters to improve query latency.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks across all databases.
• Develop automated backup, recovery, and replication procedures.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure schema changes align with application requirements.
• Document architecture, processes, and best practices for future teams.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
• Extensive experience with MongoDB scaling and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Linux server environments and shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with data warehousing concepts.
