About the role

CloudWave Digital is modernizing its customer‑facing services by overhauling performance and reliability. As a Senior Database Administrator you will lead the effort on the AstraCache module, ensuring data layers scale under peak loads while maintaining zero‑downtime deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and refactor existing PostgreSQL schemas for the AstraCache service to reduce query latency by 30%.
• Implement automated failover and replica promotion using Patroni and pg_auto_failover.
• Design and execute a data migration plan from legacy MySQL instances to sharded PostgreSQL clusters.
• Set up real‑time monitoring dashboards in Grafana with Prometheus metrics for DB health.
• Conduct load‑testing using pgbench and fine‑tune configuration parameters (work_mem, max_connections).
• Document backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery procedures aligned with SLA targets.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning and high‑availability architecture.
• Strong experience with MySQL schema migration and replication.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• Hands‑on knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and alerting.
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB for caching layers.
• Experience with containerized databases using Docker or Kubernetes.
