About the role

NexGen Media is revamping a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a Microservices Architect to design a zero‑downtime migration path and lead the implementation of a cloud‑native microservice ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Assess existing monolith and define service boundaries for incremental rollout
• Design API contracts and event‑driven communication patterns
• Create deployment pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes for blue‑green releases
• Establish observability, tracing, and automated rollback mechanisms
• Mentor the development team on microservice best practices and code standards

Must-have skills

• Proven experience architecting microservice systems at scale
• Deep knowledge of Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration
• Strong Java development background
• Understanding of zero‑downtime deployment strategies

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Istio or service mesh technologies
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Argo CD
• Background in legacy system refactoring and data migration
