About the role

BlueSky Ventures is revamping its customer‑facing services to boost performance and reliability. We need a Microservices Architect to design, refactor, and optimize the core service mesh, ensuring low latency and high availability under load.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current microservice topology and pinpoint bottlenecks.
• Redesign APIs and inter‑service communication for fault tolerance.
• Implement circuit‑breaker patterns and graceful degradation.
• Guide the team in containerization best practices and CI/CD integration.
• Define metrics, monitoring, and alerting strategies for service health.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing scalable microservice architectures.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Strong Java development background.
• Track record of improving latency and uptime in production.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Istio or Linkerd service meshes.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Knowledge of observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
