About the role
We are modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay live 24/7. As a MongoDB Specialist you will design and implement zero‑downtime migration strategies, refactor data models, and ensure high‑performance queries throughout the transition.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze existing MongoDB schemas and identify bottlenecks.
- Design sharding, indexing, and aggregation pipelines for seamless scaling.
- Develop scripts and automation to move data without service interruption.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate updated data access layers.
- Monitor performance and tune configurations in real time.
Must-have skills
- Deep expertise with MongoDB architecture, replication, and sharding.
- Proven experience in zero‑downtime migrations on production systems.
- Strong command of JavaScript/NodeJS for data tooling.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes orchestration.
- Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS DocumentDB or Atlas.
