Senior Node.js Developer for Backend API Build

About the role

Summit Digital is revamping its customer‑facing services to boost speed and uptime. We need a Node.js Developer who can redesign critical back‑end components, enforce best‑practice patterns, and ensure the platform scales under load.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing Node.js services for lower latency and higher throughput
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring hooks
• Design and optimize RESTful endpoints for reliability under peak traffic
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to integrate performance tests into CI pipelines
• Document architectural changes and provide knowledge transfer to the internal team

Must-have skills

• Strong expertise in NodeJS and Express
• Deep understanding of JavaScript performance patterns
• Proven experience building and scaling REST APIs
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker)
• Experience with cloud monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog)
• Background in load testing frameworks
