About the role

Orbit Labs is building a robust data pipeline to empower operations teams with real‑time analytics. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, tune, and maintain the core database layer that feeds downstream reporting and monitoring tools.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high‑availability PostgreSQL clusters for ingest workloads
• Develop automated ETL jobs that move data from PostgreSQL to analytics platforms
• Optimize queries and indexes for large‑scale operational dashboards
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies to ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate MongoDB and MySQL sources

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Deep knowledge of replication, partitioning, and performance tuning
• Experience scripting with Bash or Python for automation
• Strong understanding of data modeling for analytics pipelines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud‑native PostgreSQL services (e.g., AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL)
• Exposure to container orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
