About the role

Cascade Apps is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to tighten database defenses, audit configurations, and ensure compliance across multiple environments.

Key responsibilities

• Review and remediate PostgreSQL security settings, including authentication, encryption, and role management.
• Implement automated hardening scripts and CI/CD integration for database provisioning.
• Conduct vulnerability scans, patch management, and audit logging for cloud instances.
• Collaborate with DevOps to align network policies and secret management.
• Document security baselines and provide training for engineering teams.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Deep knowledge of encryption, IAM, and compliance frameworks (PCI, SOC2).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning abilities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL security practices.
• Certifications such as AWS Security or CISSP.
