Android Developer – Backend Scalability Overhaul

About the role

We are launching a brand‑new greenfield SaaS product and need an Android Developer to shape the mobile experience from day one. You will work with a remote‑first team, translating product visions into a polished, high‑performance Android app.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement core app modules using modern Android patterns
• Integrate RESTful APIs and real‑time services for SaaS features
• Ensure app stability, performance, and security across devices
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend engineers in agile sprints
• Write unit and UI tests to maintain code quality

Must-have skills

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android
• Experience with Jetpack Compose or XML UI frameworks
• Understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and dependency injection
• Familiarity with networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp) and async handling

Nice to have

• Exposure to Firebase or other cloud services
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for Android
• Experience with analytics and in‑app messaging tools
