GraphQL API Developer – Scalable System Integration

About the role

CoreData Systems is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a GraphQL API Developer to shape the data layer from day one. You will work with a remote‑first team, translating product ideas into a robust, scalable API that powers our upcoming platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a GraphQL schema that supports real‑time and batch data queries
• Integrate GraphQL resolvers with existing NodeJS services and REST endpoints
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define query contracts and optimize payloads
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure API reliability
• Document API usage and versioning guidelines for internal stakeholders

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building GraphQL APIs in production
• Proficiency with NodeJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Hands‑on knowledge of React data consumption patterns
• Understanding of REST API principles and when to bridge between REST and GraphQL

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Apollo Server or similar GraphQL tooling
• Experience in cloud‑native deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing
