About the role

Cascade Apps is building a next‑gen analytics enablement platform for its operations teams. As a Java Developer you will help construct the data pipeline that powers real‑time insights, using our internal "StreamPulse" module to ingest, transform, and expose operational metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑throughput Java services for the StreamPulse data ingestion layer using Spring Boot and Apache Kafka.
• Develop RESTful endpoints that expose aggregated metrics to internal dashboards, ensuring sub‑second latency.
• Write performant MySQL stored procedures and optimize queries for large‑scale operational datasets.
• Integrate data validation and enrichment steps with Apache Flink jobs, delivering clean data to analytics stores.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI to automate testing, containerization with Docker, and deployment to Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define schema evolution strategies and versioned API contracts.

Must-have skills

• Strong Java development experience (Java 11+), Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with REST API design and implementation.
• Hands‑on knowledge of MySQL performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests (JUnit, Testcontainers).

Nice to have

• Exposure to Apache Flink or Spark streaming.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts (Snowflake, Redshift).
