About the role
Northbay Systems is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Java Developer to shape the core services from day one. You will join a remote‑first team, working in short sprints to deliver high‑quality, scalable backend components.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement microservice APIs using Java and Spring Boot
- Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into technical specs
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior teammates
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues
Must-have skills
- Strong Java programming experience
- Proficiency with Spring Boot and RESTful services
- Understanding of microservice architecture and containerization
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
