About the role

Pinecrest Systems is preparing a major app store launch and needs a Database Administrator to align mobile and backend data layers. You will ensure data integrity, performance, and seamless synchronization across services supporting the upcoming release.

Key responsibilities

• Design and tune schemas in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL for high‑throughput mobile queries
• Implement replication and sharding strategies to support global app users
• Develop automated backup, restore, and monitoring pipelines
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define API contracts and data contracts
• Conduct load testing and resolve bottlenecks before release

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production
• Proven experience with performance tuning and scaling for mobile backends
• Strong SQL scripting and query optimization abilities
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration for database migrations

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB)
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker
• Understanding of mobile data synchronization patterns
