About the role

We are modernizing a legacy production platform and need a MongoDB Specialist to ensure zero‑downtime migration. This part‑time contract focuses on redesigning data pipelines, optimizing queries, and implementing sharding strategies while keeping the live system uninterrupted.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing MongoDB schemas and propose refactoring for scalability
• Design and execute zero‑downtime migration plans
• Implement indexing, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to align data models
• Write automated tests and monitoring scripts for data integrity

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of MongoDB design and administration
• Strong knowledge of replication, sharding, and backup strategies
• Experience with JavaScript‑based tooling and NodeJS environments
• Proven track record of zero‑downtime deployments

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for database containers
• Background in CI/CD pipelines for database changes
