About the role

CloudWave Digital is building a next‑gen mobile experience that syncs tightly with its backend services for a major app store launch. As an NLP Engineer you will shape the language understanding layer that powers in‑app search and voice commands, ensuring seamless interaction between the mobile front‑end and the server APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a multilingual intent‑classification model using PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers, integrated via FastAPI.
• Optimize on‑device inference pipelines for iOS/Android, reducing latency below 150 ms.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define API contracts and data schemas for real‑time text analytics.
• Set up CI/CD for model training and deployment using GitHub Actions and Docker.
• Monitor model drift post‑release and iterate with A/B testing on the app store beta channel.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years in NLP research or production, with focus on intent detection and entity extraction.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and building REST APIs.
• Experience with transformer models, tokenization, and model quantization for mobile.
• Strong grasp of data pipelines using SQL/NoSQL and cloud storage (AWS S3, GCS).
• Ability to write clean, testable code and unit tests in pytest.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with on‑device ML frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite or Core ML.
• Background in conversational AI platforms like Rasa or Dialogflow.
