About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a critical product and needs a PostgreSQL Administrator to lead a test automation uplift. The goal is to embed automated regression checks that cut manual effort and lower launch risk.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement PostgreSQL‑focused test suites for regression scenarios.
• Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines and ensure reliable data reset.
• Collaborate with QA and dev teams to identify high‑risk areas and create coverage maps.
• Monitor performance impacts of test workloads and tune configurations.
• Document test frameworks, procedures, and best practices for future teams.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Proven experience building automated database tests (pgTAP, pytest‑postgres, etc.).
• Strong SQL scripting, backup/restore, and replication knowledge.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

Nice to have

• Experience with MongoDB or MySQL migrations.
• Knowledge of containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Background in performance tuning for large data sets.
